Hi, I'm Simone, the founder of Build N Bloom Counselling & Therapy.
I am a passionate Child, Adolescent and Family Counsellor with over six years of experience working alongside children, young people, and families who have experienced adversity, trauma, and difficult starts in life. Throughout my career, I have worked extensively within the child protection sector, supporting children and young people impacted by abuse, neglect, domestic and family violence (DFV), alcohol and other drug (AOD) challenges, family separation, and complex life circumstances.
I hold a Master of Counselling, am a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), and am a Certified LEGO® Therapy Facilitator. My professional experience includes supporting children and families connected with Child Safety, assisting families through reunification processes, strengthening parent-child relationships, and helping families reconnect and rebuild trust following periods of separation and challenge.
I believe every child, young person, and family has unique strengths, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to child counselling. My work is grounded in trauma-informed practice and child-centred methods. I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, including play-based therapy, expressive therapies, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, filial therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and LEGO®-based therapeutic interventions. Together, we tailor support to meet the individual needs, goals, and strengths of each person and family.
My passion lies in helping children and young people feel heard, understood, and empowered, while supporting families through family therapy to strengthen their relationships, build resilience, and create meaningful connections that last beyond the counselling room. I have particular experience supporting children and families impacted by trauma, domestic and family violence, alcohol and other drug use, abuse, neglect, attachment disruptions, and child protection involvement.
A Little More About Me
When I'm not working, you'll usually find me spending time with my fluffy sidekick Bonnie, getting creative with LEGO®, enjoying a good coffee, or embracing my quiet little life. I firmly believe that play, creativity, connection, and curiosity are important throughout our lives—not just for children, but for adults too.
Creating Build N Bloom has been a dream of mine, and I feel incredibly privileged to support children, young people, and families on their journey toward growth, healing, and connection.
Whether you're seeking support for your child, your family, or yourself as a young person, I would be honoured to walk alongside you. I'm excited to hear your story and explore how I can help you build confidence, connection, and growth.
